What is the difference between Nix Private Care and Nix Home Care?
Nix Private Care provides a long list of services, including personal assistance with daily living activities whenever you and your family need the services.

  • Grooming (hair/mouth/skin care)
  • Dressing
  • Toileting (incontinence care)
  • Meal preparation (assist with feeding)
  • Medication reminders
  • Escort to medical appointments, socialization, worship, grocery shopping and errands
  • Light housekeeping (laundry and cleaning the kitchen and bath)

Nix Private Care is paid for out of pocket or by a long term care insurance plan. You do not have to meet Medicare requirements, and a doctor's referral is not needed.

Nix Home Care patients must be home bound and a doctor’s referral for skilled nursing or therapy is required. Medicare/Medicaid must also approve home care services

Is Nix Private Care licensed?
Nix Private Care is licensed by the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services.

Is Nix Private Care staff accessible anytime of the day if a need should occur?
Nix Private care staff is available to you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Who is involved in developing a care plan?
Our licensed nurses meet with you and your family in your home or home setting to determine what type of care is needed and desired. Through this coordinated effort, a flexible care plan is created which is completely customized to meet your individual needs.

Are there associated fees with changing the care plan?
There are no penalties or fees associated with changing your caregiver schedule or canceling a shift. There are also no fees to become a Nix Private Care client. Care plans are extremely flexible and custom tailored to fit the individual needs of each of our clients.

Will it always be the same person who comes to the house?
We understand the importance of building trust and companionship with your caregiver. So, whenever possible, we have the same caregiver come to your home. If for any reason you would like to change caregivers, we will work closely with you to fulfill your request.

We would be honored to come to your home to fully evaluate your needs at no cost to you. To arrange a home visit, please call (210) 341-9122.
